Can you lose weight but have trouble maintaining it? Maybe you are struggling with ‘Dieter’s Syndromes’.
Losing weight isn’t that hard. Millions of people have done it, millions of times.
Keeping it off seems to be the conundrum. Do you suffer from one or more of the Dieter’s Syndromes below? If so, try doing an about-face to shift your perspective.
1. Quick Fix – this syndrome hijacks your wishful thinking to have you believe that you can lose 40 pounds in 40 days, or some other promise. Not sustainable!
Perspective shift: Commit to one healthy new habit that is doable and do it until it is entrenched. Then take on the next one. If you do that consistently, by the end of one year you will have made changes that will naturally promote your ideal weight.
2. All or Nothing – This is the one where you are gung-ho on a diet for a period of time and then when life happens and you find yourself indulging, you figured you just blew it and so you drop your diet altogether.
Perspective shift: Plan for indulgences. We all need them occasionally. Eat well 90% of the time and your body can handle 10% of your favourite pleasures.
3. Tunnel Vision – This is the counter’s syndrome of obsessing over one number, be it calories, grams of fat or points. It can work for a while as an education tool but you need to get past the obsession.
Perspective shift: Pay attention to how your body feels when you eat. Which foods give you energy? Make you tired later? Cause digestive symptoms? How much do you need to be satisfied as opposed to full? Your body will give you clear messages if you listen.
4. Everyone But Me – Also known as the Martyr Syndrome, this one is common particularly amongst women who have time for everyone else’s needs but their own.
Perspective shift: Your need to be needed will be replaced by the self-respect that comes with committing to yourself. This will promote a more integral quality of service to others.
5. Not Now, Later – You always have the goal of losing weight hanging over you but the time just never seems to be right. Watch out for this one – for every year you don’t lose weight, you are likely to put on more.
Perspective shift: Commit to your health rather than losing weight specifically. Take on one new healthy habit as above in the ‘Quick Fix’ perspective shift.
6. I Should be Able to Do This – No one is good at everything. Keeping your body at your ideal weight is not your area of expertise but you think you should be able to do it without help.
Perspective shift: If this weight thing were simple you would have done it long ago. Consider that there are lots of factors involved and use an expert to help you as you would for other areas of your life.
TURN-KEY LUNCH N’ LEARNS
Wanting to break into the corporate market with your services but not sure where to start. One hour Lunch ‘n Learn seminars are the easiest place to begin. They are in high demand and are an easy sell. Once you get in the door and they like what you do, you can pitch other services.
For that reason, I am offering some of my Lunch n’ Learns as a turnkey package. Here is what you get:
- A beautiful and creative one per page pdf of the slides **
- A pdf of the slides (4 or 6 per page) that can be handed out to participants
- Detailed notes that you can follow for the seminar
- Marketing handout for companies
** All of these programs were created on MAC Keynote and have been also transferred onto Powerpoint. Either of these can be made available to you by contacting me directly after you have purchased the package. However, my experience has been that uploading the pdf of the slides to a USB stick ensures that there are no alterations to the slides that can happen when using a company’s slide computer and projector.
As a photographer and one who has an eye for detail , it has been important for me to create visually attractive slide shows. In the feedback that I have gotten after every presentation, there have consistently been comments on the power of the slides and the visuals. So you can ensure that each presentation is a cut-above and image-focused rather than packed with tons of words that just bore people.
Price per package $249.00
You should expect to receive anywhere from 100.00 to 500.00 for a Lunch n Learn with 300.00 being the average. It is possible that you will be profiting even on the first seminar. However even at the lower end rate, you will be profiting at your third presentation. Then every presentation you do after that is money in your pocket, and the more presentations you do, the more confidence you will build to charge more and to offer other services. In the meantime you will be benefiting from the years of experience that it took to create these seminars.
Here are the most in-demand presentations. Click on each to learn more, or to purchase.

Congratulations – you’ve graduated with your degree or diploma in nutrition. You are following your dream to be of service in this way. Now what? How do you make a living being a nutritionist?
In school, they didn’t teach you how to run a business, how to market yourself, how to get clients flowing in your door. They might not have even mentioned anything about business. You might have thought that once you had graduated, you were set. But then there is the ‘rude awakening’. Your passion and skill as a nutritionist is only a small part of what it takes to make it in the field, to actually be working fulltime and making a good living.
From my experience and the people I meet, I know that most graduating nutritionists in Canada and the US never make a fulltime living in their field.
I know what it’s like. I’ve been there… learned the hard way, failed lots of times, but eventually earned my way to a fulltime money-making practice. And I can support you to get there as well. I get as much of a thrill at helping a person succeed in their business as I do in supporting them to create greater health. They are both part of a living a fulfilled life.
In my mentoring program, you can get support in the areas that you are most challenged by. I am not always the one who will teach you the details but I will coach you to find the resources that you need to get ahead. We will put together a program that will move you forward in the following areas:
- Social media
- Speaking and presenting
- Building confidence
- Creating a niche
- Spending your money wisely to make your biz grow
- Balancing your intentions with your actions (Law of attraction)
- Setting up office or clinic space
- Client documents and resources
- Building alliances
Knowing that at this point, you have small resources to make things happen, I have priced my mentor coaching to be easy on the pocket. It is a lot less expensive than my food coaching. Not sure how long I can keep it at this price, but this is it for now. So if you need support, you want to make it as a nutritionist and you sense you can’t do it alone, give me a call. We’ll talk to see if I am the right person to help you create that fulltime practice.
$99.00 for 2X 30 minute coaching sessions per month plus unlimited email support.
Not sure if this is right for you, or sure that it is. Contact me by phone or email. We’ll set up a time to discuss your needs.
