Sustainable Weight Loss

Sustainable Weight Loss

Weight loss is one part of the process. Keeping the weight off is another.

Just as environmentalists argue that we need to look at the long-term care of the earth, as The Food Coach I argue that we need to take a long-term view towards the care of your body. 95% of people who go on a diet will regain the weight they’ve lost within one to five years. I am committed to ensuring that my clients are not part of that statistic. The Food Coach’s mission is to guide you towards a way of eating and relating to food and your body that you can practice for the rest of your life.

The coach-client relationship is a unique and powerful one for producing results. When you make the decision to commit to food coaching, you are committing to learning new strategies, moving past the obstacles, and staying accountable to your success. We will work together to alter both your behaviour and your physiology, to shift your relationship with food and your body, to make the weight loss sustainable.

We begin with a 2-hour live Foundation Session and follow with 11 X 30-minute in-clinic or phone sessions, one per week, four per month. (These can be adjusted to account for time away and your personal needs.)

Look to making a minimum 12-week commitment, which is sufficient for most people. Depending on what your starting point is however, you may need further coaching after the 12 weeks to ensure you’re to make it on your own.

Before we make any commitments, we will have a phone conversation to determine if 1) this is the right program for you and 2) I am the right coach. You will have all your questions answered and I will determine your readiness for change. This conversation is free, so don’t hesitate to call!
